2 Indonesian pilgrims die in Saudi building collapse

    JAKARTA, Jan. 7 (Xinhuanet) -- Two Indonesian Muslim pilgrims wereamong the death toll in the collapse of a building in Saudi holy city of Mecca, local media reported Saturday.

    Government officials tasked with escorting Indonesian pilgrims during the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia have confirmed the casualties after checking the bodies at the Mu'aisim Hospital in the city, reported the Antara news agency.

    The two were identified as Gufron bin Munadji, 31, and his wife Jumaati binti Lukman, 26.

    According to the government data, 94 Indonesian pilgrims have died during the pilgrimage this season, mostly because of severe weather conditions.
