Simpson to open People's Choice Awards

    BEIJING, Jan. 6 -- "The Dukes of Hazzard" star and pop singer Jessica Simpson will open the the 32nd Annual People's choice Awards with a special performance.

    "Jessica's true vocal talent, unlimited energy and undeniable charisma will truly be a great addition to this year's show," executive producer Carol Donovan said in a statement Thursday.

    The 25-year-old singer-actress is nominated in the category "Favorite Song From a Movie" for "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'."

    The People's Choice Awards honoring favorite performers in television, movies and music will be broadcast live Jan. 10 on CBS. Enditem
