Tibet holds art exhibition in Kathmandu

    KATHMANDU, Jan. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- An exhibition of paintings by eminent artists from China's Tibet autonomous region was held in Kathmandu on Thursday.

    The exhibition displayed 50 contemporary art works by renowned Tibetan artists.

    Four year ago, a "Nepal Contemporary Painting Exhibition" was also organized in Lhasa of Tibet, Han Shuli, head of the visiting Tibetan artisit deleation said, adding the exhibition today is the continuation of the cultural exchanges.

    The show was staged on an occasion marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal, Han said.

    "The main objective of our visit is to continue our exchanges, to strengthen the relationship between the artists of the two sides and also to study Nepal's rich culture," he added. Enditem
