JAKARTA, Jan. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- A Cessna plane with two people onboard crashed in
Indonesia's eastern province of Papua Thursday, leaving no survivors.
The plane, belonging to local firm Associated Mission Aviation, crashed
around one hour after take-off from its hangar in Sentani regency, some 4,200 km
east of Jakarta, reported the Detikcom on-line news service.
A rescue team rushed to the scene to evacuate the bodies of pilot Willy
Kocu, 29, and a passenger identified as Alex Tony Rumbaran.
The weather was good when the accident occurred at around 10:00Indonesia's
eastern time zone (0100 GMT), it said.
"The cause of the accident is not known. We must first take care of the bodies," Melly, a staff with the company, was quoted as saying. Enditem |
