BEIJING, Jan. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- The Chinese Ministry of Commerce has decided to rectify the disordered motorcycle export market by monitoring the qualification of motorcycle manufacturers in China.

Zhang Ji, vice director of the ministry's Mechanical & Electrical Products Department, said here Wednesday that the ministry would issue a notice on rectifying the motorcycle export market in the coming days.

To protect the interests of both consumers and the manufacturers, the Chinese government will enforce strict market entry qualification for domestic companies to export motorcycles.

Management of the domestic motorcycle and components manufacturers will also be strengthened in the future, said Zhang.

The ministry said motorcycles are listed as important export commodities in China.

China ranked first in the world for the fifth consecutive year in exporting motorcycles in 2005.
