KATHMANDU, Jan. 2 (Xinhuanet) -- Three powerful bomb explosions rocked
Pokhara, Bhairahawa and Butwal cities of western Nepal Monday evening.
However, no human causalities were reported.
A powerful bomb exploded at Prithvi Chowk, one of the busiest marketplaces
in the Pokhara city, at about 7:30 p.m. local time (1345 GMT).
Anti-government guerrillas exploded another bomb at the District Survey
Office in Butwal Municipality almost at the same time.
The guerrillas asked the employees to leave the building before exploding
the bomb.
Likewise, the guerrillas exploded a powerful bomb at the District Education
Office in Bhairahawa city.
Nepali anti-government forces on Monday announced the withdrawal of its
unilateral cease-fire declared four months ago.
Over 12,000 Nepalese people have been killed since the anti-government insurgency took place in the Himalayan kingdom in February 1996. Enditem |
