    BEIJING, Jan. 2 (Xinhuanet) -- A strong earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.5 was recorded off the South Sandwich Islands in the Atlantic Ocean, China's National Seismological Network reported on Monday.

    The quake struck at 2:10 p.m. (Beijing Time) Monday and its epicenter was located at 60.8 degrees south latitude and 21.4 degrees west longitude, according to the seismological network of China. Enditem
