MOSCOW, Dec. 30 (Xinhuanet) -- The Russian Foreign
Ministry on Friday dismissed as groundless Israeli claims that Hezbollah
militants used Russian-made missiles in attacks on Israeli territory.
Israel's military intelligence chief, Aharon Ze'evi-Farkash,
said in an interview with Israeli media on Thursday that Hezbollah
fired Russian-made missiles, received from Syria, in recent attacks on
Israeli territory.
"There are no and can be no grounds for them (such
statements)," Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mikhail Kamynin said in a
statement posted on the ministry's web site, adding Russia is strictly adhering
to its obligations in military-technical cooperation in the Middle East.
"The arms export control system we have developed is
one of thestrictest and most reliable in the world. It rules out any possibility
of misuse of weapons," Kamynin said.
The spokesman reiterated Moscow's commitment to
guaranteeing stability and security in the Middle East and promoting a political
settlement of the conflicts in the region. Enditem |
