TOKYO, Dec. 26 (Xinhuanet) -- The death toll in a train derailment accident late Sunday has reached four, Japanese media reported Monday.

The new fatality was a man who was pulled out of the carriage early Monday without consciousness, the public broadcaster NHK said.

There were 44 passengers and two crew members on the train when it jumped out of the track at about 7:20 p.m. (1020 GMT) in the northern Yamagata prefecture. Thirty-three people were injured, including the driver

Television news reports showed rescuers were braving strong gales and heavy snow to search for the trapped people.

The strong winds are now believed to have caused the accident, according to media reports.

The winds got the train floated, the driver was quoted by NHK as saying.

The accident follows the April 25 derailment of a commuter train in the western Hyogo Prefecture, in which 107 people were killed and 555 others injured. Enditem
