BAGHDAD, Dec. 24 (Xinhuanet) -- A US soldier has been killed when a roadside bomb struck his patrol in Baghdad, the US military said on Saturday.
"A soldier assigned to Task Force Baghdad was killed when an improvised explosive device detonated near his patrol in Baghdad on Dec. 22," the military said in a statement.
The name of the soldier is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, the statement added.
The death has brought to more than 2,160 the number of US military personnel who have died in Iraq since the US-led invasion in March 2003, according to media tally. Enditem |
