STOCKHOLM, Dec. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- A new poll shows that Swedes are more
opposed than ever to adopting the euro, Radio Sweden reported on Tuesday.
Forty-nine percent now say they would vote against joining the European single currency if there was a new referendum, while 36 percent say they would vote yes.
The rest were undecided.
That means the gap between proponents and opponents has almost doubled
since a similar survey in May, according to the poll.
In the September 2003 referendum, more than 56 percent of those voting
rejected the euro, while just under 42 percent were in favor. Enditem
