CAIRO, Dec. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- US Vice President Dick Cheney has called off a planned visit to Egypt, an Egyptian source said here Tuesday.

"There will be no meeting between (Egyptian President Hosni)Mubarak and (US Vice President) Cheney on Wednesday" as the visit has been called off, a presidential source told Xinhua, without giving more details.

The US official was expected to meet President Mubarak on Wednesday in Cairo as part of a five-day regional tour aimed at rallying support for the US war on terror.

Cheney has already visited Iraq, Afghanistan and was currently in Pakistan. He was also expected to stop over in Oman and Saudi Arabia. Enditem
