JERUSALEM, Dec. 19 (Xinhuanet) -- The Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem said Monday that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, who is receiving treatment in the hospital after he said he did not feel well on Sunday night, is likely to be allowed to leave hospital on Tuesday.

Sharon is probably to be allowed to leave hospital on Tuesday after he undergoes a new series of tests, which aimed to determine the effects left by the stroke, the hospital told reporters at a press conference.

The hospital said it is expected to release the 77-year-old prime minister on Tuesday because his health condition was "fine",adding more tests were needed.

Sharon was rushed to the Hadassah medical center's trauma unit Sunday night after suffering a minor stroke.

A senior aide to Sharon said after visiting him Monday morning that the prime minister's condition had improved overnight and that there were no external signs of stroke.

Sharon's long-time personal physician Dr. Boleslav Goldman was quoted by local newspaper Ha'aretz as saying that there was no permanent damage caused to Sharon.

"Sharon's functioning was in no way damaged," he added.   Enditem
