JERUSALEM, Dec. 18 (Xinhuanet) -- Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was said to be lost consciousness and admitted to hospital late on Sunday, a local TV channel reported.

Sharon was taken to Jerusalem's Hadassah Hospital after feeling unwell while working in his office after nightfall Sunday, a hospital spokeswoman was quoted as saying.

Media reports said Sharon, 77, arrived in the hospital when he apparently lost consciousness.

But the hospital spokesman said later Sharon had regained consciousness.

Channel 10 also reported that Sharon regained consciousness shortly after arriving at the hospital. Enditem
