Mild earthquake hits northern Philippines

    MANILA, Dec. 17 (Xinhuanet) -- A mild earthquake of yet unknown magnitude shook Ilocos Norte in northern Philippines Saturday, the local radio DZMM reported.

    The report said the quake hit the province at noon and Seismology experts located the quake's epicenter 21 kilometers northeast of Laoag City.

    The quake was the strongest to hit the Ilocos region this year and of tectonic origin. Its seismic level was not reported as press time.

    No one was reported killed or injured in the quake. Enditem
