TEHRAN, Dec. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- Iranian President
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday termed the Holocaust as a "myth" created by
Europe to establish a Jewish state in the Middle East, renewing his call for
Israel to be moved from the region, the state television said.
"Today, they (the Europeans) have created a myth of
Holocaust," Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying at a gathering in the southeastern
city of Zahedan.
He said that it were European countries that should
pay the price to compensate the Jewish people who were oppressed during the
World War II.
"Our proposal is that European countries or the
United States give a piece of land in their territory to the Jewish to establish
their country," he said.
Last Thursday, Ahmadinejad said that Israel should be
moved from the Middle East to Europe and whether the Holocaust took place was a
question.
In late October, Ahmadinejad called for wiping off
Israel from the map.
Iran is sympathized with the Palestinians and refuses
to recognize Israel, while the Jewish state sees Iran as a threat.
