Dutch court approves to extradite suspected terrorist to US

BRUSSELS, Dec. 12 (Xinhuanet) -- A Dutch court has ruled that a man suspected of terrorist activities can be extradited to the United States to face charges, radio Netherlands reported on Monday.

Wesam al Delaema, a 32-year-old Dutchman of Iraqi descent, is wanted by the United States on charges of conspiracy to attack US troops in Iraq in 2003.

He is also charged with possessing explosives.

Al Delaema, also known as Wesam Khalaf Chayed Delaeme and allegedly a member of the "Fighters of Fallujah," was arrested last May and found to have a video instructing Iraqi militants howto attack a US convoy, the report said.

But he claimed militants forced him to make the videotape.

Al Delaema's Dutch lawyer said he would appeal against the extradition decision, arguing that his client's rights are unlikely to be respected in the United States, the report said. Enditem
