BAGHDAD, Dec. 11 (Xinhuanet) -- A US soldier was killed on Sunday when a roadside bomb went off near his patrol in western Baghdad, the US military said.

    The name of the soldier is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, the military said in a brief statement.

    On Saturday, four US soldier were killed in separate insurgent attacks in and near Baghdad.

    The death toll has brought to about 2,140 the number of US military personnel who have died in Iraq since the US-led invasion in March 2003. Enditem
