BELGRADE, Dec. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- Serbia-Montenegro now faces increased pressure on war crimes cooperation following the arrest of a top war crimes suspect, a government minister said on Friday.

"We need to have clear and transparent answers to show full cooperativeness towards the war crimes tribunal and enable access to our archives, which will be assessed as a great advance in cooperation," said Rasim Ljajic, minister of human and minorities Rights.

Visiting French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy said that Croatia had kept its promise to help track down its former general Ante Gotovina, who was arrested on Wednesday night in Spain's Canary Islands with the cooperation of Croatian authorities.

Ljajic, who is in charge of war crimes cooperation, said that huge efforts were made to track down Bosnian Serb wartime commander Ratko Mladic, who is widely believed to be hiding in Serbia.

Mladic and former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic are thetwo most wanted suspects wanted by the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague.

Ljajic said that the country's Defense Ministry had handed thecomplete file of Mladic to representatives of The Hague tribunal.

"We handed them a complete file, which is a concrete evidence of cooperation with the tribunal and fulfillment of obligations that we took upon ourselves," Ljajic said. Enditem
