Southwest Airlines jet slides off runway in Chicago

    WASHINGTON, Dec. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- A Southwest Airlines passenger jet slid off the runway at Chicago's Midway Airport on Thursday night as it attempted to land amid a snowstorm, local media reported.

    The aircraft, which flew in from Baltimore, slammed through a fence, slid into a nearby street and hit one car. One person in car was seriously injured, CNN reported. Enditem
