Al-Jazeera: Iraq kidnappers extend deadline

    BAGHDAD, Dec. 7 (Xinhuanet) -- Kidnappers threatening to execute four foreigners in Iraq have extended the Dec. 8 deadline by two days, Arabic television channel Al-Jazeera reported Wednesday.

    The group, the Brigades of the Swords of Right, had earlier demanded the release of prisoners by Friday, extended the deadline to Dec. 10,Al-Jazeera said.

    The four hostages, one Briton, one American and two Canadians, were taken hostage in Baghdad two weeks ago. They were working for the Christian Peacemaker Teams anti-war group. Enditem
