SMG, Shanghai telecom to launch IPTV

    BEIJING, Dec. 1 -- Shanghai Media Group is teaming up with Shanghai Telecom, China Telecom's Shanghai branch, to launch an Internet Protocol Television business in Shanghai. The business will be the first to offer IPTV commercially in China. The new services will be launched next month in the Shanghai's Minhang and Pudong districts. The service will be extended to cover the entire city by the middle of next year. The regular rate for the service will be set at 60 yuan per month, but promotions are being offered until next March.
