SHIJIAZHUANG, Nov. 28 (Xinhuanet) -- All the 18 miners trapped by a coal mine flooding
in Wu'an City of north China's Hebei Province were confirmed dead,
sources with the local government said on Monday.
Rescuers found the body of the last trapped miner at around 4 a.m. Monday,
bringing the total number of victims to 18. All the victims have been
identified, said an official with the city government of Wu'an, adding
compensation for the victims has begun.
Investigation on the cause of the accident went on slowly as the three coal
mine leaders and some technical workers ran away after the flooding happened on

Twenty-seven miners were working underground when the accident took place.
Only nine of them managed to escape.
