GAZA, Nov. 26 (Xinhuanet) -- A senior official in ruling Fatah movement asserted on Saturday that internal elections of Fatah primaries, which were scheduled for Friday, had been postponed in the Gaza Strip for Monday.
Ibrahim Abu Naja, chief of the highest central committee for the primaries elections in the movement, told reporters that the committee decided not to hold Fatah primaries in each of the Gaza Strip and West Bank districts on the same day as it was scheduled.
On Friday, primaries were held in four of the largest West Bank districts of Ramallah, Nablus, Bethlehem and Jenin. In coming days, primaries are expected to be held in several more districts in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Sameer Masharawi, a member of mobilization and organization office in Fatah movement, said that the postponement was decided after some technical and administrative problems appeared and might obstruct holding the elections.
