KABUL, Nov. 26 (Xinhuanet) -- One officer and three soldiers were taken away by Taliban militants early Saturday morning in Afghanistan's southern province of Logar, Interior Ministry spokesperson said.

"A group of Taliban militants attacked the building of the district chief early this morning at about 1:30 in Charkh district, some 90 km south of Afghan capital Kabul. The police fought back, but Taliban destroyed the building and took away one officer and three soldiers," Mohammad Yusuf Stanizi told Xinhua.

According to some reports, Taliban has occupied the building and set fire to it.

The local police have been sent to the area for searching operation now.

More than 1,500 people, with the majority of them Taliban militants, have been killed in the Taliban-linked militancy since the beginning of this year. Enditem
