Germans do not expect more jobs under Merkel: Poll

    BERLIN, Nov. 23 (Xinhuanet) -- Germans believe that the new grand coalition government led by Angela Merkel will not be able create much more jobs, a latest poll showed on Wednesday.

    The poll, conducted by pollsters Forsa, found that 79 percent of the 1,002 surveyed Germans do not believe that unemployment will be reduced much.

    Forsa also found that only 17 percent said that the jobless rate, which stands at 11 percent, will be lowered.

    Merkel, who was formally sworn in as the first female chancellor in Germany on Tuesday, has made jobs creation a priority.

    The new government was formed by Merkel's Christian Democrats and the Social Democrats. Enditem
