STOCKHOLM, Nov. 21(Xinhuanet) -- Swedish police defused a bomb in a building in central Stockholm on Monday after a witness saw a man drop a bomb-like item in a stairwell and run away, local media reported on Monday.

The building, housing the Slovakian Embassy and other Swedish companies, was briefly sealed off as the police identified the item as a powerful bomb and removed it, the report said.

Police cars, fire-fighting vehicles and ambulances were waiting outside the building during the whole process. The police are now going all out to catch the suspected man, said the report.

The Slovakian Embassy and other offices had not received any threats before, the police said. Enditem
