EVORA, Portugal, Nov. 19 (Xinhuanet) -- Government leaders of Portugal and Spain agreed to boost their cooperation in the field of science and technology during the latest Iberia summit that wrapped up on Saturday in the central Portuguese town of Evora.
ĦĦĦĦSci-tech development will become a new focus in bilateral cooperation, said Portuguese Prime Minister Jose Socrates and his Spanish counterpart Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.
The two countries signed a total of 12 agreements on sci-tech cooperation, signaling that cooperation in this field will become a "new star" in bilateral ties, the two leaders told a press conference.
Rodriguez Zapatero said the current summit has broadened their cooperation from some traditional sectors to the fields of science,employment and environmental protection, while bilateral relations have entered an extremely sound stage.
The Iberia summit is a meeting between government leaders of Portugal and Spain. It is held alternatively in the two countries every year. Enditem |
