Western states renew travel warnings against Indonesia
www.chinaview.cn 2005-11-20 10:00:14

JAKARTA, Nov. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- Western states had issued fresh travel warnings for their citizens over possible terrorist attacks in Indonesia after a website was discovered to offer tactics and locations for killing foreigners in Jakarta, local media reported Sunday.

The United States, Britain and Australia had advised their citizens to put off any unnecessary travel to Indonesia, following the disclosure of a website called Anshar El Muslimin, said the Jakarta Post.

The website showed in text and diagrams how to carry out assassinations by shooting or throwing grenades at targets at various locations, including malls, hotels, embassies and main thoroughfares in Jakarta.

Australia warned on Saturday that attacks could be staged against Western interests before the end of the year.

Meanwhile, the US Embassy in Jakarta said that the discovery ofthe website indicated that militants were renewing their tactics.

Britain also issued a similar warning.

Indonesia saw one major terror explosion each year from 2002 to2005. Azahari bin Husni, one of the leaders of the terror group believed to be responsible for the bombings, was recently shot dead. The police have forecasted more attacks in revenge by his fellows. Enditem
