ATHENS, Nov. 19 (Xinhuanet) -- A group of about 40
youths threw firebombs at three bank branches in downtown Athens in the early
hours of Saturday morning, the police said on Saturday.
The individuals broke the frontages of three bank branches in central Athens and threw firebombs in the interior
of the bank branches, causing extensive damage, Athens News Agency reported.
The fire was extinguished by 15 firemen with three
fire engines.
Police are conducting an investigation to locate and
arrest theculprits, without, however, having specific data.
A spate of firebomb attacks were launched against
police, government agencies and French institutes base in Greece by local
anarchists, who expressed their support to the Paris riots, said the police.
