BAGHDAD, Nov. 18 (Xinhuanet) -- Death toll has increased to 65 at Shiite mosques blasts in eastern Iraq on Friday, with another 85 injured, the source from Iraqi Interior Ministry told Xinhua.

"Three explosions in all occurred in the town of Khanaqin in eastern Iraq. The first one is a car bomb detonating near a bank in the town. Another two suicide bombers blew themselves up in two Shiite mosques when people were conducting their Friday prayers," the source said on condition of anonymity.

"The death toll could continue to rise," the source added. Khanaqin is a Shiite-dominated town about 140 km northeast of Baghdad, with also Sunnis and Kurds living there.

Reports reaching here from Khanaqin said that local authorities have immediately imposed a curfew in the town near the Iranian border. Enditem
