Exports of China-made cell phones up 48% Jan-Sept

    BEIJING, Nov. 16 (Xinhuanet) -- Statistics from the Ministry of Information Industry showed China exported 6.4 million cell phones in the first nine months of this year, up 48 percent from the same period last year.

    The top three exporters of China-made handsets are Bird, at 3.72 million units in the January-September period, which accounted for 60 percent of the country's total export volume, followed by TCL at 905,300 units and Haier, at 339,600 units, the Economic Information Daily said on Wednesday.

    Bird brand handsets were exported to more than 60 countries and regions in Europe, America and Southeast Asia. Enditem
