2 killed in attack in India-controlled Kashmir

    SRINAGAR, Nov. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- Two people were killed and six, including a Japanese journalist, injured in a militant attack in India-controlled Kashmir Monday, the police said.

    The militants blasted a grenade outside Palladium Hotel at Lal Chowk, downtown Srinagar, summer capital of India-controlled Kashmir, at 4:15 p.m. Monday and then fired at security forces, the police source said.

    The militants later broke into the hotel that was surrounded by the police troops. The police have yet known how many militants were involved.

    Two civilians were killed in the attack while the identity of the injured Japanese journalist is not available now. Enditem
