GAZA, Nov. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- A Palestinian was killed and at least two others wounded by Israeli troops' gunfire in the Gaza Strip early on Monday, Palestinian security sources said.

    The incident occurred near the eastern Gaza border with Israel, said the sources, adding that the identities of the casualties were not immediately known.

    There is no word yet from the Israeli military concerning the incident.

    Palestinian militants have recently stepped up firing rockets from Gaza on Israeli targets. Israel has carried out airstrikes and fired artillery on the coastal strip, from which it withdrew in September, in a bid to stem out the rocket attacks. Enditem
