Canada's opposition parties agree on election

    OTTAWA, Nov. 13 (Xinhuanet) -- Canada's three opposition parties agreed on Sunday to force the minority Liberal government to hold an election in February, local media reported.

    Conservative Party leader Stephen Harper said that the three parties would back a motion in Parliament this week calling for a February vote, adding that they would present a formal confidence motion to Parliament if Prime Minister Paul Martin refused. Enditem
