RAMALLAH, Nov. 13 (Xinhuanet) -- The father of a Palestinian boy killed by Israeli troops' gunfire said on Sunday that he will address the Israeli Knesset (Parliament) on Monday with a message of peace after donating his son's organs to Israeli patients.

The 12-year-old Ahmed al-Khatib sustained serious wounds by Israeli soldiers' gunfire in a raid on the West Bank city of Jenin earlier this month. The Israeli military said soldiers mistook Ahmed waving a toy gun for an armed militant.

The teenage boy died later in a hospital.

Ismail al-Khatib, the boy's father, then decided to give his son's organs to several Israelis awaiting transplants in order to "bring hearts closer and bring peace closer."

Ismail told reporters that he would deliver a speech before the Israeli Knesset, which is to be attended by Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.

"I don't mind seeing my son's organs going to Israelis or Palestinians. God allows us to give organs to another person and it doesn't matter who the person is," the father said.

He added that he hoped the donation would send a message of peace to Israelis and Palestinians.

Three Israeli girls, two Jewish and one Druze, underwent surgery to receive Ahmed's lungs, heart and liver. Ismail said he also hoped to meet the recipients of his son's organs.

In addition, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office has invited Ismail to meet with Sharon. Enditem
