CAIRO, Nov. 11 (Xinhuanet) -- Iraq's al-Qaida terror
network claimed in a Internet statement on Friday that four Iraqis,including a
woman, carried out the triple suicide bomb attacks on three luxury hotels in the
Jordanian capital Amman on Wednesday.
"Three warriors and one sister, all of
the Iraqi nationality,have planned and implemented the attacks on the hotels
housing foreign spies," said the statement, posted on a website frequently used
by the al-Qaida group in Iraq.
The statement added that the woman was wife of one of
the three male suicide bombers.
The authenticity of the statement cannot be
verified.
Nearly 60 people were killed and over 100 others were
woundedin three bomb attacks that rocked Amman on Wednesday. Jordanian King
Abdullah has vowed to hunt down those behind the attacks and security forces
have rounded up scores of suspects across the country, which is a US ally and
has signed a peace treaty with Israel. Enditem |
