Former Indian president Narayanan dead

    NEW DELHI, Nov. 9 (Xinhuanet) -- K.R. Narayanan, who was India's 10th president from 1997-2002, died here Wednesday of complications resulting from acute pneumonia, Indo-Asian News Service reported.

    Narayanan, who turned 85 on Oct. 27, is survived by his Myanmar-born wife Usha, and two daughters, Chitra and Amrita.

    He died at 5:45 p.m. at the Indian Army's Research and Referral Hospital where he was admitted on Oct. 29. Enditem
