www.chinaview.cn 2005-11-08 21:06:36

GAZA, Nov. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Well-Informed Palestinian sources said on Tuesday that US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will visit the Palestinian territories next Sunday.

The sources said Rice will hold talks with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas at the Palestinian National Authority's headquarters in the West Bank city of Ramallah.

The sources added that the Abbas-Rice meeting will highlight the operation of the Rafah crossing on the Gaza-Egypt border and means to revive the long-stalled peace process. No further details were revealed.

Rice's visit came as a recent surge of violence between the Palestinians and Israel cast a pall over the prospects of restarting peace talks. Enditem
