LANZHOU, Nov 7, (Xinhuanet) -- Two miners were killed in a coalmine accident in Lanzhou, capital of northwest China's Gansu Province, Sunday morning.

The two, both from Linxia Towship of Gansu Province, were working five hundred meters under the ground when gas suddenly began to burst out and put the two into coma.

A team of over 20 rescuers were sent to the accident spot. The two died on the way to hospital.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, local coalmine administration said. Enditem
