BAGHDAD, Nov. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- Ahmed Bin Hili, a senior Arab League (AL) official, met on Sunday with senior Sunni Arab leaders to discuss preparations for an Iraqi national reconciliation conference.

"Bin Hili held talks with senior Sunni leaders about preparations of consensus and national dialogue conference, whichis to be held under the auspices of the AL," a source close to an AL delegation told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The source said Hili met with Adnan al-Dulaimi, head of People of Iraq Gathering, and Muhsin Abdul Hamid, head of the Iraqi Islamic Party. Both formed with some other Sunni parties a political coalition, the Iraqi Consensus Front, ahead for the Dec.15 parliamentary election.

The AL official suggested five dates for the conference to be convened in Cairo, all of which started after Nov. 18, the source said, adding Hili left the choice for Iraqis to specify the date of the conference.

Ahmed Bin Hili arrived here on Saturday for preparations for the reconciliation conference. Enditem
