MACAO, Nov. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- Chen Tao scored a second-half goal tohelp China beat the Democratic People's Republic of Korea 1-0 in the men's soccer final Sunday at the East Asian Games.

It is the first time that China won the men's soccer title at an international multi-sports event.

Chen, who is linked with a move to Belgian club Anderlecht, rose unmarked in the penalty box to head home a corner from teammate Wang Ke in the 72nd minute. It was his sixth goal in the seven-team tournament.

The 20-year-old midfielder went closer to scoring his second goal in the match but DPR Korean goalkeepr Kim Myong-gil made a superb save to deny his long-range effort.
