MAR DEL PLATA, Argentina, Nov. 3 (Xinhuanet) -- US President George W. Bush arrived in the southern Argentine resort city on Thursday evening to attend the fourth Summit of the Americas.

Bush was accompanied by his wife Laura Bush and US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

During the two-day summit, President Bush is expected to push for reviving negotiations on the Free Trade Zone for the Americas which have been stalled because of differences between the United States and countries like Brazil and Argentina.

Bush is also expected to meet with Argentine President Nestor Kirchner and discuss with other leaders of the Hemisphere about ways to boost employment, reduce poverty and strengthen democratic governance.

After the summit, President Bush will visit Brazil and Panama before returning to Washington on Monday. Enditem
