BEIJING, Nov. 1 -- Beijing is going to unveil the mascot for the 2008 Olympic Games on November 12th, 1000 days leading to the opening of the 2008 Games.

    Mascots for the 2008 Beijing Olympics Games are expected to be unveiled next week.

    According to the Beijing Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games (BOCOG), the mascots will be disclosed on November 12th, exactly 1,000 days leading to the opening of the 2008 Games.

    One hundred children from less-developed western regions of the country will be invited to the unveiling ceremony in Beijing.
