TOKYO, Oct. 31 (Xinhuanet) -- Japan's Cabinet members resigned Monday to pave the way for Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi to shuffle his ministers, Koizumi spokesman Yu Kameoka said.
Koizumi was to announce a new Cabinet Monday afternoon, a move seen here as a signal of his choices for a successor after his term ends next September.
Koizumi already named Monday Shinzo Abe, acting secretary general of the ruling party, the Liberal Democratic Party, as chief cabinet secretary, the national broadcaster NHK TV reported. Enditem |
