NEW DELHI, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- At least 10 people are feared dead in an explosion that rocked Indian capital Delhi Saturday, local police said.
The blast took place at the crowded Paharganj area, a backpackers' paradise, in central Delhi.
"Ten people were feared to be dead but it is not yet confirmed.A few injured have been taken to hospital," an officer at the Paharganj police station, close to the New Delhi Railways Station,said.
According to NDTV, four crowded shopping markets Paharganj, Gole, Sarojini and Govind Puri all reported blasts and Sarojini market is on fire.
The blasts happened three days before the Diwali festival when the local markets were crowded with festival shoppers. Enditem |
