    TEHRAN, Oct. 27 (Xinhuanet) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki reiterated on Thursday that the Islamic Republic would never recognize Israel, state media reported.

    In a meeting with ambassadors from Islamic countries, Mottaki said that "the Zionist regime, which prospers by banishing the right owners of the land (of Palestine), is not legitimate."

    He, meanwhile, announced that the Iranians would show their indignation in the anti-Israel demonstrations to be held throughout the country on Friday, while commemorating Quds (Jerusalem) Day designated on the last Friday of Ramadan by Ruholla Khomeini, the late founding father of the Islamic Republic.

    Earlier in the day, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that it would condemn the European governments for their indifference towards "Israel's suppression of the Palestinian nation".

    On Wednesday, the hardline president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that Israel would be "wiped away" soon, denouncing the recognition of Israel as surrender and defeat of the Islamic world.

    "Undoubtedly, the new wave (of attacks) in Palestine and the growing turmoil in the Islamic world would in no time wipe Israel away," Ahmadinejad told a conference entitled "The World without Zionism" attended by thousands of students.

    Ahmadinejad's comments have drawn immediate denouncement from the European Union, the United States and Russia.

    Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon also said on Thursday that Iran should be kicked out of the United Nations after its president called for Israel's destruction. Enditem
