RAMALLAH, Oct. 27 (Xinhuanet) -- Israeli army entered the northern West Bank town of Jenin on Thursday as part of its tough responses to a suicide bombing attack which killed five Israelis on Wednesday, Palestinian security sources said.
Dozens of Israeli jeeps backed by Apache helicopters thrust into the town and surrounded a house believed to belong to a Jihad member, the sources said.
Witnesses also reported gunshots after the raid in the afternoon.
The raid came as the army was ordered to launch military offensives in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, one day after a Jihad suicide bomber blew himself up in a market in the coastal Israeli city of Hadera, killing five Israelis and wounding some 30 others. Enditem |
