No new bird flu cases reported in Anhui
www.chinaview.cn 2005-10-27 01:46:09

TIANCHANG (Anhui), Oct. 26 (Xinhuanet) -- The bird flu outbreak in east China's Anhui Province has been put under control and no new cases were reported in the province Wednesday, local authorities said.

Since some geese were found dead on Oct. 18 in Liangying village of Tianchang City in the province due to suspected bird flu, emergent operations, including poultry slaughter, disinfection and vaccination in the affected areas, have been launched, according to the city government.

Blockade and disinfection were imposed on the routes linking to the village and poultry markets near the affected region were closed.

The situation in the province is normal and poultry-raisers have received compensation for their losses. Enditem
