BAGHDAD, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Three massive explosions rattled a hotel in central Baghdad on Monday, injuring at least five people, witnesses said.

"I heard three loud blasts, and my office was shaking. The window of the office broke because of the explosion," the witness told Xinhua, adding that the explosions took place about 200 meters away from his office.

"Three powerful explosions detonated one after another, with one minute's interval in between. I can see huge black smoke in the sky," another witness said.

The explosions, probably caused by car bombs, badly damaged the hotel which houses many foreign journalists, Iraqi police said. US forces have arrived at the scene. Enditem
